- first massive land operation the Canadian Army from Britain partook in
- this was one of Canada's greatest war victories they have ever participated in
- for a Canadian, and the time given, it was the most blood intense battle throughout the wars in Italy
- the Canadians alongside the Allie's captured the "Italian Stalingrad" which was a fantastic victory
- Canadians helped fight house-to-house through infantry, using mouse-hole strategies
- Canadians left many civilians unharmed all throughout the war
- without the Canadian's help, the remaining 10% of other countries as Allie's would not of succeeded
- they forced through German defenses able to take control of the outskirts of Ortona, covered by tanks and smokescreens
- "the Loyal Edmonton Regiment" & the "Seaforth Highlanders of Canada" advanced into the city of Ortona heavily armored being able to take over the occupied Germans with help from the "Three Rivers Regiment" tankers
- Canada split up into sections allowing the take over to be fast and deadly
- right after Christmas, the Canadian's had controlled 2/3's of Ortona
- Germans retreat as the Canadian forces are just too strong
- Canadian's dislodged many experienced German paratroopers
